In a shocking partisan move, the Dunedin Herald has acknowledged its competitor and North Island rival, The Palmerston North Herald.

The analysis also stated that the country's largest newspaper, The NZ Herald, is keeping a close eye on stories posted by the Dunedin Herald in a move to "keep an eye on its competition and fight for its survival". This comes as more and more satirical news outlets begin to start business.

The story posted by the Dunedin Herald did clarify that all 3 heralds, including our own, remain independent.

Earlier this week, the PN Herald wrote to the Dunedin Herald in a move to close the divide and strengthen ties between our newsrooms. After many hours of no response, the PN Herald got the following reply;

"Website's awesome."

The Palmerston North Herald remains open to further discussion around how we can best serve the "nation-wide shift to alternative truths" together and possibly collaborate on featured ideas.

The Palmerston North Herald remains the region's leading satirical news source and is completely independent of any publications, whether satirical or real-world news.
